A large Travel Inkwell with the case made of leather on pressed brass.
On opening the case, you expect there to be 2 inkwells and perhaps a pen wipe due to the size. However, this version is a little different. It has one glass inkwell with a sprung padded lid, a compartment with hinged lid for stamps. a pen wipe and a small roller blotter.
The leather used has been passed through a rolling machine to give it a grained effect and the brass to the interior has been engraved. The white remnants from Brasso has been left in to highlight this but the final photo with the stamps showing the Brasso cleaned out. Early 20th Century.
