A small mahogany Ship's Corner Cupboard.
This cupboard or shelf has a high lip to the front edge to prevent the contents from falling out in stormy seas. The design is quite simple with a rounded moulding to the edge of the overhanging boards. The construction is mostly by lap joints and screws. The inside of the lip is chamfered to make it easier to lift items out of the cupboard, which is a good bit of attention to detail. Mid to late 19th Century.
