A tall oak Campaign Bookcase with the shelves graduating in depth.
The method for dismantling this bookcase is quiet simple. Each shelf is rebated into the uprights and is fixed in place, and further supported, by 2 bolts to each side. The shelves are fitted with inset nuts to fix the bolts. It is unusual to get such a tall portable bookcase and the 8 shelves would provide plenty of storage space. The shelves are quite plain but have a reeded front edge. The top shelf is overhangs the back (to allow for a skirting board) and is fitted with mirror plates to screw the bookcase to the wall. Circa 1900.
