A walnut and painted pine folding Table. The top is made of walnut with a stained pine apron and folding tuned legs. The legs are fixed in place by an iron hook to each side and a bracing bar to the underside of the top. The legs fold as a pair on hinges and are set within the apron to stop them moving from side to side. The apron is fitted to the underside of the top with sections of angled iron for strength.
Given its long and narrow size, it's possible that this table was used either domestically as, say, a harvest table or was from a barrack room. It size would be useful as either a kitchen or hall table. Mid to late 19th Century.
