A pair of leather covered brass Brighton Bun Travelling Candlesticks. A number of companies such as the Army & Navy Store and Harrods sold leather covered Brighton Buns but they are much harder to find than pressed portable candlesticks of the period.
The dishes are made of pressed brass backed in leather whilst the removable sconces and their screw fittings to the dishes are cast brass. The sconces are a better shape than standard, pressed Buns and the tramline ring turnings elevate them further. Also described as Military Candlesticks, this version would have been a more desirable model at their time of manufacture and remain so to this day. Circa 1900.
Size of each set up is given.
