Brass Bound Decanter Box

Category: Other Travel Items

Subcategory: Eating & Drinking

A medium sized, brass bound, mahogany antique Decanter Box.

The box is lined in dark blue velvet and divided evenly to take 4 bottles. 2 bottles have pouring spouts and 2 have symmetrical lips. The escutcheon plate is shaped and the engraving plate to the top has a family crest of a lion rampant with sword within a crown. It is not illustrated in Fairbairn's Crests. The box retains its key. A good, clean example of a portable Decanter Box. Mid 19th Century.
